Rep. - elect Gibson receives committee assignments (Biz Journal)

Elected member of Congress Christopher Gibson, a Republican, has received his committee assignments: agriculture and armed services.

United States Rep-elected Christopher Gibson (R-Kinderhook) said Thursday that he landed on the committees on agriculture and services in the House of representatives of the United States seats.

Gibson sprawling district covers all or part of 10 counties, including six in the capital region. Gibson won the elections last month beating incumbent U.S. Rep Scott Murphy (D - Glens Falls) to 55% of the vote.

"It is an honour to have been chosen by Republican leaders to serve on two committees which are of vital importance for our district," said Gibson. Republicans will control the House once Gibson and other legislators are loaned oath on 5 January.

Gibson, a military veteran of 24 years, said agriculture and armed services committees are its two top choice of the page. Murphy serves as even two committees.

The district covers all counties in Columbia, Greene, Warren, Washington, as well as parts of Saratoga and Rensselaer counties.
