A charitable foundation named for a boy of Clifton Park end donates $ 50,000 to the melodies of the Medical Center in Albany for childhood cancer center and blood disorders.
The gift of struggle of the Nick to be healed Foundation Inc. will be used in support of the position of the specialist in the lives of children, a job funded solely by donations and grants. Specialist help children living families who are adapting to the realities of having a child with cancer.
The Foundation was established in 2009 in memory of Nick Cammarata, a 13 year-old who died in October 2008, after a battle for four months with leukemia. It is headed by his parents, Janine Cammarata and Lucas Cammarata.
Albany Med donation is double what the Foundation has given last year. The Cammaratas he presents on 15 December. At the same time, volunteers of the Foundation will bring holiday gifts for families with children treated at the Center Melodies, DVDs and video games to refresh the supply of the clinic.
